Note for private patients:
Increasingly, privately insured patients are being sent by non-radiology specialists to centers that are not radiology practices. These companies (‘neo-medical’ centers) merely provide a device and send the referring doctor the service including the invoice. The referring, non-radiology doctor then sends you ‘his’ MRI invoice for the amount of the service.
As specialists in radiology, we can only warn against this practice and advise you not to be persuaded by these services, as your findings are not produced by radiology specialists. Significant findings, which are often outside the specialist area of the referring doctors, can therefore easily be overlooked.
We strongly recommend that you have your examinations carried out at a qualified center with radiology specialists.
